Kids Corner

This has been a month of Birthdays! Jude had his first Birthday and Ezzy turned three. We had fun celebrating with our YWAM family here. On the base now we have 12 children! It makes for some really fun Birthday parties.

Another month has come and gone, it seems like just yesterday I was sitting here in the internet cafè writing an update for July! Amazing how time flies, sometimes it feels hard to grab ahold of a quiet minute for yourself, or cherish those simple things that bring us joy – a smile or a hug that comes our way. But those are the important things in life, so in the midst of all the busyness and activity, I pray that we can find and appreciate those special moments throughout the day.

From Scott…

Hello everyone, things are going well here in Costa Rica. There is one month left in the DTS – which has been really amazing. It is so awesome to see God working in the lives of these young people. He is opening their eyes to the fact that He is bigger than they thought. They are realizing that they could spend their lives in pursuit of God and constantly be discovering new things about Him.
Working with the DTS is a lot of work and can be very challenging, but the reward of seeing the lives of the students transformed by God makes it all worth it. I am blessed to be a part of it.

Looking Ahead…

Plans are still underway for the “Children at Risk School” in January 2009. Our vision for this school is to see new leaders trained, equipped and released into ministry, rescuing and restoring the lives of children at risk in Latin America.
The needs of children in this region are overwhelming; the numbers are staggering. And yet, we believe that God has a plan. And we believe the scriptures which say, “You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed… “; Psalm 140:12
Training and equipping leaders is a way to help more children than we ever could on our own as a family. We really want to see workers from Latin America able to receive this training. We are raising funds right now for a scholarship fund. Let us know by responding to this email if you are interested in sponsoring a worker from Latin America to receive training.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this! Across the distance, thank you for loving us and caring about us and being our friends. We can’t do this work alone and we’re thankful for you!
With much love,

Scott, Leslie, Kai, Ezzy and Jude
