swine flu vacation

We just finished two weeks of school holidays.  The boys and I spent sunshiney mornings at the park, mostly bug collecting and playing with neighborhood kids.  The afternoons were rainy, and so we read stories, colored and inside games.  The boys headed back to school Monday, a little reluctantly, but excited to see their friends.  Tuesday morning I dropped the boys off only to be met by teachers with surgical masks on, alerting parents that all schools are closed for two more weeks – a precautionary  measure decreed by the government of Costa Rica because of the swine flu.  Wow!  Two more weeks!  Definitely means more work for me, but it’s also a fun time because all the kids are out of school – including the YWAM kids.  I love the YWAM kids.  They may look like gringos, but these kids are little ticos and they’re all bilingual, some even trilingual!  I love having them over and watching the kids all play, switching back and forth between Spanish and English, the creativity, the silly games they come up with all together.  They truly are like a little family. We went a little wild today, so I had to post some pictures!
