A new year begins….

January 26, 2009

January came fast, we could barely catch our breaths as we jumped into the new year.  It feels good to be back, the rainy season is over and we’re enjoying sunshine and playing outside, campfires in our backyard, and “summer” break for the kids.  We kicked off the new year with a YWAM San Jose staff retreat,  one week of crazy preparations and then the students for DTS, University of the Nations’s School of Worship and Children at Risk School began arriving and classes started on Jan. 11.  The very first Children at Risk School in Central America is underway – we are in week three right now.  How amazing to meet our students and begin training these incredible people with big hearts who desire to see children living fully in their God-given rights.  A 6.2 earthquake hit this month, shaking us to the core, and damaging many homes and lives near the Poas volcanoe.  The base- students and staff- have been quick to respond with relief work.
